Outside Golf Staff 

Work a flexible part-time schedule at the fun and friendly Crowfield Golf Club. Staff have some golf privileges and enjoy a great work environment.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing outside duties to include functions in the cart barn and on the course no more than 25 hours per week. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Prepares golf carts for daily use by customers.
  • Greets customers and assists with loading and unloading equipment on carts.
  • Cleans and washes carts after each use.
  • Picks up golf balls on driving range, cleans balls and prepares for re-use.
  • Repairs divots.
  • Maintains cleanliness of putting green.
  • Cleans paths, sidewalks, parking lots and exterior of clubhouse.
  • Secures building and carts each night.
  • Provides relative information regarding golf course conditions, local rules, expected playing time, golf course safety, emergency procedures, golf course etiquette and other golf related issues.
  • Verifies receipts of players.
  • Assists players as necessary with carts, scorecards and rules of play.
  • Maintains clean and orderly appearance of the starter's area at all times.
  • Provides emergency assistance to golfers as necessary.
  • Observes and coordinates pace of play.
  • Reminds golfers to replace divots, repair ball marks and rake sand traps.
  • Replenishes water in drinking containers on course.
  • Assists Pro Shop staff in preparing for and running tournaments, clinics and other special events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year of related experience to include knowledge of rules of golf and golf course etiquette preferred.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver's License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of groundskeeping.
  • Ability to provide quality service to customers.
  • Knowledge of the golf course layout.
  • Knowledge of golfing rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to be attentive to surroundings while working on a golf course.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move bags of fertilizer and other objects and the following physical abilities: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is typically performed outdoors with constant exposure to noise, dirt, grease, irritating chemicals, insects, inclement weather and golfers. Employee exposed to a variety of maintenance equipment and chemicals.
