Golf Course Worker
Crowfield Golf Club is located in beautiful Goose Creek, SC and is only 19 miles from downtown Charleston!
This is a Part-Time position offering flexible hours during the week and weekends. Work in a fun and friendly work environment with free golf privileges.
JOB SUMMARY
Position responsible for maintenance of the grounds at the country club, to include the golf course, clubhouse, pool and tennis areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs lawn care duties, including mowing, trimming, edging and weed eating. Over seeds grounds as needed.
- Maintains the fairways, rough and bunkers.
- Trims bushes and trees. Clears land.
- Maintains pond banks.
- Keeps maintenance shop clean daily.
- Performs light maintenance and painting as necessary.
- Performs daily maintenance on equipment.
- Applies chemicals.
- Maintains clubhouse, pool and tennis court areas.
- Serves as back up to co-workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of safety practices involved in grounds keeping.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of golf course care preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to be attentive to surroundings while working on a golf course.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One-year experience performing groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor laborer work. Prior experience at a golf course preferred.
- Any combination of education and experience totaling one-year may be considered.
- Valid South Carolina Driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move bags of fertilizer and other objects and the following physical abilities: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed outdoors with exposure to noise, dirt, grease, insects, inclement weather and golfers. Employee exposed to a variety of maintenance equipment and chemicals.
